Hello friends! I have a DIY body scrub I’ve been using for ages and I wanted to share it with you so that the BBC doesn’t mistake you for a reptile while filming for Planet Earth III.

You all know I don’t skimp on beauty or skincare products, but I do have a hard time shelling out a lot of money for a body scrub, especially since I feel like I need to use the entire package in order to feel or see any difference. What I like about this recipe is its simplicity and effectiveness. Oh yeah, and it’s cheap! You probably already have the ingredients in your cupboard. Prep time is also a whopping one minute and clean up is easy, because you use it in the shower!

  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of raw honey (organic, if that’s your jam)
  • 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil (organic, jam yadda yadda)

Combine in a bowl. Mix together with a fork. Bring into shower. Exfoliate all over! I promise you will come out with baby soft, glowing skin. The sugar sloughs off dead cells, the honey is a humectant that locks in moisture and the coconut oil further moisturizes and makes you smell delicious, like a human Almond Joy bar (in a good way, I promise)!

NOTE: I recommend rinsing with soap or body wash after if you don’t like feeling too oily. Also, please be careful in the shower as the oil will make it slippery! I am not paying a settlement for your carelessness, okay?

1/2 cup sugar

Mix with fork!

And it lasts a long time! I never used honey with mine though and I think that is a nice addition. Besides if you happen to get some in your mouth–oh YUM! 🙂 Thanks Megan!
